Welcome to ARM Council
ARM is 29 years young and going strong!
For nearly three decades, Active Retired Members (ARM) have been engaged in a wide range of activities—sporting events, cultural gatherings, and long-standing political advocacy—working closely with Provincial OSSTF to support our shared goals.
On this site, you’ll find event listings, newsletters, and archived materials from active ARM chapters across Ontario. We encourage you to explore, participate, and stay connected.
With over 4,000 members across Ontario, ARM continues to grow. Join us and make the most of the opportunities available to retired OSSTF members.
If you have any questions or would like more information, feel free to contact me or reach out to the leaders of our active chapters.
Best wishes in Federation,
Iain Beaton – Chair, ARM Council

Welcome to OSSTF Active Retired Members (ARM)
The OSSTF Active Retired Members (ARM) was established in 1996 by the Annual Meeting of the Provincial Assembly (AMPA) of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF). ARM was created to support retired OSSTF members while maintaining their connection to the organization and their colleagues.
Why ARM?
✔ Stay Connected – ARM ensures retired members remain linked to OSSTF through regular communications and updates.
✔ Support OSSTF Members – When needed, ARM members can lend their experience and assistance to active OSSTF members in their communities.
✔ Maintain Colleague Networks – With local chapters aligned to OSSTF districts, ARM provides opportunities to stay in touch with retired colleagues.
✔ Comprehensive Health Coverage – In partnership with OSSTF, ARM developed its own health insurance plan, designed to be equal to or better than any other retiree health plan available.
ARM continues to be a vital part of OSSTF, ensuring that retirement doesn’t mean losing touch with the profession, the people, or the support that OSSTF provides.
